Miss. KY Kimyean

I'm very grateful to be part in the Mekong Big Build project. It was an unforgettable experience that I have never had before because I met a lot of new friends. Also i have learned and improve a lot based on the construction work as well as communication skill.

As the name of Cambodian youth, we should engage ourselves more in community work because just studying in the class is never enough. We should adapt ourselves in the reality in order to improve the our community and be the part to help our own nation.

Miss. MEAS Sophea

I feel proud of myself, all interpreters, all international volunteers and habitat Cambodia who made everything happened for the sake of our vulnerable people, to bring them new place to start a bright future. It was an honor for me, as a Cambodian youth, to bring hope, joy, and new change for someone out of my small contributions.

I believe that the true happiness is when you learn to share what you have for others, even the smallest you have. The more you give, the more you are blessed. Thus, start to grab some chances to show your kindness and love for our beloved people by joining with habitat Cambodia, building hope and home for humanity.

Miss. POU Veronica

To me MBB when I volunteered was a great one. I have never known such an organization exists in our country and it does help a lot for those who are badly off. Meeting new ppl is just a partial moment but partaking in construction process was the best part of all. It was tiring though it was amazing too.

I have only one message to spread to Cambodian youth is that never be so selfish and care for ur own welfare, ppl out there who wish to have a better life or even to have sufficient beside needs are striving for help So learn to take part in social activities and help those ppl out it may cost u times but what u receive in return is a real happiness

Miss. KHEM Chhor Vida

Been working out there at the site was very hard. I got sweat, thirsty, and hot. I can see the point that everybody is trying to complete the houses. Mekong Big Builds 2013 is the great event for every youth to learn, to share, to express, and to exchange. Learning from the social, working with so many people, Habitat staffs, and international volunteers from other countries is such wonderful experiences for me. I’m so proud of myself that I am doing a good work for both community and for Habitat for Humanity. Thanks Habitat for this great opportunity.

My message for Youth, I hope all the Cambodian youth avoiding the wrong way and back to help our community, share their experiences, share their love to every poor people. Especially participate with Habitat to build homes for people from the dump site because we’re Cambodian.

Mr. TORN Senghong

I Feel delighted. I have learnt a lot from being a volunteer there such as practice my English, communication with foreigners, the home owner as well as local volunteer. One thing I like the most is helping the poor.

My message to Cambodian youth is that we should contribute our valuable time to help the society like this Habitat for humanity, which help to build house for the poor. Joining the volunteer doesn't not cost anything just your energy is enough. Your energy would be valuable.

Mr. YOU Panha

I used to work as volunteer many place, but I never felt wonderful as when I've been a volunteer as interpreter at MEKONG BIG BUILDS (MBB) 2013, it makes me feel so adoptable. Because I've been worked with many international volunteer who come from different country. One more thing, MBB also provided me to be a translator between Khmer construction work, international volunteer, and house owner as well. Moreover, I've learnt a lots about how to build house and make many friends, international and local friend. In addition, I'm so happy when I see everybody smile even they was so tired while they were been working hard. They always smile to build up the house. And I was so happy when I see international volunteer comes and helps Cambodian people. Especially, it was touched my heart when I see the house owner smiles with their tear-drop, they did't cry of something, but they cried due to see their house.

After I've been joined MBB 2013, I have some messages to send to Cambodian youth, I want all youth in Cambodia try to study and take your free time to help our community and do not waste your time on unimportant thing, if you can take those time to spend on working as volunteer is better. Because working as volunteer isn't making benefit for another at all, but it provides you many experiences and it's a work which help your community as well.

Mr. TRY Vutha

It's really great opportunity, happy, experience.

They should help their people by volunteer in the NGO.

Mr. PREMPREY Denna Manith

I feel that it was an amazing experience I have learn a lot from this volunteer, I had many new friends especially the translator friends.

My message to Cambodia youth is that I would like to raise awareness of all Cambodia youth to start caring about volunteering in this kind of project which provide many benefit to both the society and us.

Mr. PREAP Panath

Well, this is gonna be a very Long answer for me....how do I feel? I feel very very delighted and surprised because this is my first time working with People coming from different nations. About Mekong Big Builds, this is such a great event that never ever happen in Cambodia I would never forget in my life. People from different countries work together under the sun light no matter how tired they are in order to rescue poor khmer family who has no decent place to live. This is what I wanna see in my life when different people living together wit love, sharing, forgiving n compassion. I think I must make it short, I would like to thank very very much to all International Volunteers who had devoted their valuable time and as well as their money to help these poor families. And I never forget Habitat For Humanity for organizing this amazing event and providing me the opportunity to join, Thanks a lot.

Em.........I just want to say to all Cambodian Youth in present society that whatever you do, please make it go along with generosity, charity, compassion while you're thinking about yourself and your family. Nature provides us wit one life the same and equal, but society makes us unequal, some people living in slum areas and have not enough food to eat, children do not have access to school n they even not have money to go to hospital when they're sick meanwhile others living in a good big house and attend high ranking university. As the youths in 20th century, we must change the world, why don't we help each other? Together we can make a difference....

Mr. LAS Brosoeur

I don't know what I should describe my feeling when I was an interpreter volunteer with Mekong big build. I just only would like to tell you that it was really great time for me. And I really enjoyed working that event although it is my first hard work. Moreover, I can also learn many new things from that. I can know the importance of communication from other people, especially foreigners. I can build up my speaking and listening as well. So, to sum up I would like to tell that I am really happy to have a chance to work as socail work with volunteer unit.

Youths must try to work as volunteer with other NGO in order to get more experiences. Volunteer work for socail, family, and yourself as well.

Mr. LIM Vannak

It was a great time for me that have had the best opportunity to involve in the Habitat For Humanity Cambodia as an interpreter for one week. I have been really so pleasure for my activities with 150 international volunteers from different countries coming together on Mekong Big Build. Otherwise, I have been amazed with those people that have volunteered to help poor people in Cambodia without consideration of personal advantages. In fact, when I have seen working hard of everyone, I have felt very proud by never regretted what I have done there. Additionally, I got more experiences from them and good communication each other and they have always contributed whatever to us.

As I am Cambodian Youth, I think poor people are needing to help on time. I have known about the feeling of hungers people ; no habitats also that they have never been happy from day to day. Actually, people really have everything equal after they were born, such as happiness, property, peace, warfare, and so on. so that, I make division to contribute whatever to everyone by working volunteer to find fund from other countries depend on my ability and I will donate them. In brief, I would like to provoke all of Cambodian youths to work hard for helping poor people and we have to open mind in situation for poor people together.

Mr. NGET Sina

I felt great, happy, warm and friendly, and enjoyable.

Just spend a little of what you have for better lives together.

Mr. KHAN Vannak

There are thousands of words that I would take to describe about my feeling. I would say it was the greatest time for me to be a volunteer for the international event. It is very touching and unforgettable memory with local and international volunteers. Frankly, I was so proud when I can help my own people by my both hand. It is still in my heart and every activities seem working in front of me. I want to make it happen again and meet all of my dear volunteers.

Personal speaking, I would to suggest Cambodian youth attend more in social activity. It really help them as well as their community. Youth can make differences. Only solidarity of them can our society get stability and peace. Your contribution to society, which you volunteer as social worker, community services, can make differences for our Nation. Thank!

Mr. HENG Sokkea

MBB promotes country development and gives chance for students. MBB itself reduces poverty and illiteracy for those who live in dump site. Also, with houses provided, they seem to be given hope to start a new chapter in their life. Moreover, it is such a good chance for student to improve their English as being a translator. They also have self-development since they know how to deal with international volunteers such as their work, and their culture.

To me, everyone can join and help country by using their physical and mental resource. I encourage Cambodian youths to be volunteerism because they can improve country and themselves. To volunteer, they will meet new people and new so that importantly, they upgrade the way of thinking and build up network.

Mr. HENG Kitsophal

I think the volunteer is very important. I have gained a lot of experience: meeting new people from different cultures. I learn to appreciate and adapt to new culture. In the era of globalization and regionalization, living with people with different backgrounds is fact of life; it is important to learn for us to understand each other. Also, I improved my English language. Furthermore, I have helped poor people who just move to new house, which is essential for their lives. I feel I can make contribution to my society.

I urge Cambodian youths to participate more in volunteering works. They can put it in their CVs to attract their future manager. Also, they would understand the importance of work and money. In addition, they would meet different kinds of people whose characteristics and personality differ from them and would learn to work together.

Mr. AING Haypheng

As a volunteer, I am quite contented, cooperated, sharing, learning, experiencing new things, esp. culture, and even responsible in this MBB 2013.

Mr. NHAN Bolipich

I'm very happy that I joined with Mekong Big build. Besides, I got an experience that was first time for me. Especially I can help poor people in our country to have home for living as everyone. All in all I hope another person have a chance to join as me.

Mr. NOY Sokung

I was very delighted. I know how well to contribute myself to our community. My message to the youth is that we must be aware to our community. We must spend our time to contribute to our poor community in order to make change.
